• The David Johnston Lebovic Foundation International Experience Awards will be given for as much as $2,500 to fund a one-time study or study opportunity, $2,500- $5,000 for a single-term volunteer or work experience, or up to $10,000 for two-term volunteering or work experience.

• Most students participate in research-based classes (thesis or even a significant research piece).
• It is usually only given to students who have completed the very first term of their course (term 1.0).
• Students must demonstrate academic excellence by meeting the criteria set by the faculty.
• Students must fulfill the academic standards of their programs and violate probationary requirements.
• This award may be added to other external or internal awards (e.g., UW Graduate Scholarship, OGS, etc.). It is important to note that scholarships differ from sponsorship – read the following bullet.
• In general, students shouldn’t be receiving the sponsorship of foreign agencies or governments (e.g., China Scholarship Council, Libyan sponsorship, etc.) concurrently or be entirely or partially self-funded, more than the minimum requirements for faculty of financial support.
• Grandparents who have been granted a grandparent under the current IMSA program are not eligible to be considered for an IMAE. However, students who have been given an IMSA for completing a master’s degree previously are eligible to be considered for IMAE.
• Students will automatically be selected to be eligible for this award based on their application for admission. Faculty and departments will establish their internal procedure to choose the recipients based on requirements for eligibility and allocation.
• Faculties may require stricter qualifications for students based on the appropriate.
